DRESSING FOR SAFARI
WHAT CLOTHING TO PACK FOR SAFARI IN SOUTHERN AFRICA
When packing for a safari, we would love to say go all out in preparation for your holiday to Africa and kit yourself out like Indiana Jones. Unfortunately, if you read our Top Game Drive Tips you’ll know that head-to-toe khaki is not really necessary.
When it comes to dressing for safari, layering is key, as the early mornings and evenings can get quite cold. We recommend packing clothes that are practical, comfortable and neutral. We’ve compiled a list of what to pack for safaris to make sure you don’t forget anything for your safari adventure.
Here are our safari ‘Must-Packs’ and a few extras that won’t go amiss:
Must-Packs:
- cool t-shirts
- long-sleeve shirts
- a fleece or warm jacket
- khaki trousers
- shorts
- a hat or cap
- a cotton scarf or bandana

- socks
A Few Extras:
- a slightly smarter outfit for dinner at smarter hotels / lodges
