Owner-managed and run, Jamala Madikwe offers an intimate bush experience, where personal service and attention to detail are the cornerstones of every moment. The lodge successfully combines colonial style and African eccentricity. Positioned beneath a canopy of ancient Leadwood trees, the lodge has magnificent views of open savanna plains and a waterhole that abounds with wildlife. The lounge area invites you in with its comfortable couches, wooden antiques and African artefacts and roaring fire for those chilly winter nights. There is a wrap-around deck, which makes the most of the view.
Jamala Madikwe caters to a maximum of 10 guests only, in 5 luxurious free-standing villas. Carefully considered design ensures that each private villa enjoys expansive views of open savannas and the Jamala watering hole. The villas are enormous, with a gracious bedroom, luxurious bathroom and a separate lounge. Each villa has its own rim-flow pool and sala, expansive wooden decks and a private outdoor shower.
Designer dining is of the highest standard and a team of chefs under the tutelage of award-winning chef Nico Verster prepare gourmet dishes for guests who dine in plush surrounds at the long wooden dining room table, under the stars or in the privacy of their beautifully appointed rooms.
