Luxurious Cape Town Phinda Manyeleti Safari – 4 nights Cape Town | 2 nights Phinda | 4 nights Manyeleti | 2 nights Victoria Falls
Overview
My wife and I recently visited South Africa and Zimbabwe. Pembury Tours, Melanie Macphail, planned the trip after thoroughly understanding our hopes and dreams. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to travel the world and have been able to do so with the top providers including 5 star hotels and resorts. The trip to Africa included 3 full days in Capetown, 6 days on safaris in two exclusive reserves, and 2 days at Victoria Falls.
It was a trip of a lifetime. Melanie arranged all details and bookings including all internal flights and arrangements. From the time we stepped off our international flight in Africa to the time we checked in for our flight back to America, all details were arranged flawlessly.
We plan to go back and will consult Melanie and Pembury when we do. I highly recommend you all do the same and call Pembury and ask for Melanie.
Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you are met by our representative, who will assist you to domestic departures for your local flight to Cape Town. On arrival in Cape Town, you are transferred to your hotel for your four night stay.
Explore the Mother City and the Fairest Cape – from the oldest buildings in South Africa to trendy waterfront shopping; from majestic Table Mountain to sun drenched beaches; and from dramatic seascapes to verdant vineyards. Cape Town regularly tops many lists of world must-visit destinations and Cape Town’s iconic Table Mountain has recently been voted one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Cosmopolitan and fashionable, the relaxed atmosphere and pavement café culture give Cape Town a Southern European feel – but with a distinctive African twist.
After an early breakfast, you are collected from reception and transferred by road to Cape Town Airport for your flight to Johannesburg where you connect with your flight to Richard’s Bay.
On arrival in Richard’s Bay, you are transferred by road to Phinda Game Reserve for your 2 night stay. You have time to settle into your lodge before your afternoon game drive.
&Beyond Phinda Private Game Reserve is situated in sub-tropical northern KwaZulu Natal, with close proximity to the warm Indian Ocean. It is an award-winning game reserve with a strong focus on conservation and community involvement. In 1991, &Beyond Phinda undertook the biggest game relocation in a private game reserve in the world at the time, restoring 34,600 acres of degraded farmland to a pristine wildlife reserve. The reserve has now grown to a total of 56,830 acres of land dedicated to the preservation of wildlife.
Referred to as “Seven Worlds of Wonder”, &Beyond Phinda is home to seven unique ecosystems that can be explored on twice-daily game drives from each of the Reserve’s six luxurious lodges. Phinda offers excellent Big Five game viewing, with spectacular sightings of the elusive cheetah and the rare black rhino. In addition to game drives, Phinda offers walking safaris and river cruises on the Mzinene River.
After breakfast, you are transferred from your lodge for your flight to Nelspruit. On arrival, you are met by our representative and transferred by road to your lodge in the Manyeleti Game Reserve.
Forming part of the Greater Kruger National Park, the Manyeleti Private Game Reserve has no fences and the wildlife is able to cross freely between the Manyeleti and the rest of the Greater Kruger National Park.
Manyeleti is prime “Big Five” territory, offering exceptional possibilities for viewing the elusive leopard. Other Big Five animals (lion, rhino, buffalo and elephant) are also often spotted on a very regular basis. Furthermore, with more than 300 bird species present in the area, Manyeleti make a great safari destination for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers and bird watchers alike.
The Manyeleti Reserve is a remarkable natural sanctuary known for its exceptionally high concentration of animal and bird life. Close contact encounters are guaranteed as the animals are not threatened by the presence of vehicles thanks to sound conservation management policies. Safaris are let by experienced rangers coupled with local Shangaan trackers. The Manyaleti is one of the lesser-known Kruger reserves, which means fewer tourists and a lower concentration of game drive vehicles.
This morning, after your game drive and breakfast, you check out of your lodge and fly to Nelspruit on a shuttle flight to Nelspruit, where you check in for your flight to Victoria Falls.
On arrival at Livingstone airport, you are met by our representative and transferred by road to your hotel for a 2 night stay
Besides being one of the seven natural wonders of the world and a World Heritage Site, Victoria Falls is the unchallenged adventure capital of Africa with more than 50 activities available.
At 1708 metres wide, Victoria Falls is the most expansive curtain of water in the world and drops more than 100 metres into the sheer Zambezi Gorge. Straddling the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, these Falls and the Zambezi River are the central points in an area of spectacular scenic beauty: from the Falls themselves to the broad, picturesque course of the Zambezi River upstream, the rainforest adjacent and the stark jagged gorge downstream, the power and timelessness of nature’s forces are evident throughout.
The Falls’ local name, Mosi-Oa-Tunya – “the Smoke that Thunders” – more accurately defines the essence of the place: the rising, shining spray that can be seen 30km away. This vapour has the effect of adding moisture in the form of humidity to the air in the “splash zone”, so that a unique, small rainforest ecosystem clings to the edge of the Falls, providing a toehold for no less than 70 shrub and 150 herbaceous species, as well as trees such as pod and Natal mahogany, ebony, Cape and strangler fig and Transvaal red milkwood. There are two National Parks in the vicinity: the Zambezi National Park in Zimbabwe and the Mosi-oa-Tunya Zoological Park in Zambia, which means that herds of big game such as elephant and buffalo, as well as smaller species and even predators such as lion persist in the area.
After a leisurely breakfast, you take a last look at the Falls before checking out of your hotel. You are collected from reception and taken by road to the Livingstone Airport for your flight to Johannesburg where you check in for your international flight home.
