A GUIDE TO AFRICA

THE SECRET TO ENJOYING AFRICA

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Africa is a continent that is incredibly easy to fall in love with. For those who have visited or those of us who live here, it is extremely difficult not to think of her without seeing her golden sunrises, expansive blue skies and breathtaking landscapes.

[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ spacing=”” center_content=”no” link=”” target=”_self” min_height=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_position=”left top” background_repeat=”no-repeat” hover_type=”none” border_size=”0″ border_color=”” border_style=”solid” border_position=”all” padding_top=”” padding_right=”” padding_bottom=”” padding_left=”” dimension_margin=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_offset=”” last=”no”][fusion_text]

Your first trip to southern Africa will be a truly memorable experience. There is no guarantee of smooth sailing. In fact, we can almost guarantee that there will be bumps in the road. However, there is a rhythm and a pulse to Africa that once you feel, you will find difficult to forget.

Whichever African country you find yourself in, you will encounter friendly faces, beautiful wildlife and exceptional scenery.

Of course there will be pesky insects, questionable adherence to traffic laws and a high chance of sunburn. But these are all things you can prepare for – SPF 50 for sunscreen is the way to go!

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

– The biggest secret to loving Africa is learning the art of patience –

It won’t take you long to realise that us Africans like to do things at our own pace. We take things slowly (unless of course we’re helping plan your trip here, then it’s efficiency all the way!). There is an African Proverb – “Life is like a shadow and a mist; it passes quickly by, and is no more”

Ultimately, it means that every moment should be relished and lived out fully – there is no rush – the sun will rise again tomorrow.

From game drives to whale watching to waiting for food, be patient. You might have to wait to see an elephant, maybe you don’t see a breaching whale, perhaps your food takes a little while to arrive. It’s not the end of the world – there will be other game drives, other whales ready to breach, other meals. Try to enjoy every moment as it happens – look out for the small things that make those moments special anyway – sunrises, sea breezes, friendly restaurant staff.

If you accept that Africa moves at a different pace and trust the process, you’ll find yourself enjoying her rhythm a lot more and from there it’s difficult not to dance along.
