This 14-day tour combines safari with a road trip along South Africa’s scenic Garden Route.
Your journey starts with two nights at Timbavati Game Reserve which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. Here you will enjoy exceptional game viewing as there is an abundance of elephant, buffalo, kudu, zebra, and impala together with their predators – lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena.
You then move on the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Sabi Sand is part of the largest conservation area in South Africa and is one of South Africa’s most treasured natural sanctuaries. You will go on twice-daily game drives offering the chance to spot the elusive leopard, the rest of the Big Five and a vast variety of other species.
With your safari coming to its end, you fly to Port Elizabeth to start your road trip. You will set off for the scenic Tsitsikamma forest with its towering ancient trees, lush vegetation and deep gorges. Spend time exploring Tsitsikamma National Park on one of the many beautiful walking trails. After one night, you continue your self-drive adventure as you make your way to Knysna. You can spend the day exploring this quaint seaside town and the evening taking in the sunset on a ferry ride.
Your journey continues to Oudtshoorn where you will go on a wild habituated meerkat tour. You can also visit the Cango Caves or an ostrich farm, Oudtshoorn is the ostrich capital of the world after all! You will travel through the Klein Karoo, an ecological hotspot where three distinct plant biomes converge, before arriving in Montagu.
On the final stretch, you make your way to South Africa’s wine country with its magnificent mountain views, vineyards, orchards and indigenous flora. Explore roadside farm stalls, go for a wine tasting at one of the many world-class vineyards, enjoy a picnic or dine at one of the award-winning restaurants.
Your African adventure ends with three nights in Cape Town, one of the world’s must-visit destinations. From the iconic Table Mountain and sun-drenched beaches to world-class cuisine and trendy shops, you will be left wanting to return.
