Kruger National Park Family Fun – 1 night Johannesburg | 2 nights Sabi Sand | 2 nights Greater Kruger
Overview
We had a wonderful trip of a lifetime and appreciate the suggestions and itinerary you arranged for us. My younger daughter got engaged while we were at the Arathusa lodge. It was a lovely place and Mark was able to arrange for a bottle of Champagne for us to celebrate the happy occasion.
Again, thank you from all of us!
On arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, you will be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel in the heart of Sandton. After dropping your bags and checking in, you will be taken on an afternoon tour of Soweto and the Apartheid Museum.
Johannesburg is a city with so much on the go. There are wonderful restaurants, relaxed sidewalk cafes, gargantuan shopping malls, tranquil parks, emotive museums, busy townships and stunning galleries.
This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to OR Tambo International Airport for your domestic flight to Hoedspruit in Mpumalanga.
You are met at Hoedspruit Airport and transferred to your lodge in the Sabi Sand Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park. You have time to settle in at your lodge before you set off on the afternoon game drive.
Forming part of the Greater Kruger National Park, the Sabi Sand Reserve has no fences and the wildlife is able to cross freely between the Sabi Sands and the rest of the Greater Kruger National Park. The safari experience in the Sabi Sand is highly personalised because game drive vehicles have exclusive traversing rights in their area. The Sabi Sand Reserve is a remarkable natural sanctuary known for its exceptionally high concentration of animal and bird life. Close contact encounters are guaranteed as the animals are not threatened by the presence of vehicles thanks to sound conservation management policies. Safaris are led by experienced rangers coupled with local Shangaan trackers. With exceptional sightings of leopard (usually the most elusive of cats), lion, rhino, elephant and buffalo during game drives – visitors are never lacking in exciting photographic content.
This morning, after your morning game drive and brunch, you are collected from your lodge and are transferred to your next lodge in a private concessionary area of the main part of the Kruger National Park.
The world renowned Kruger National Park offers a diverse array of habitats from vast grasslands to more heavily wooded areas interspersed with lush riverine thickets.
This provides ideal habitat for large herds of zebra, wildebeest and other plains animals. White rhino enjoy the numerous pans and wallows, whilst the shyer and more elusive black rhino can be found in the more thickly wooded areas. Herds of buffalo roam through grasslands seeking the succulent grasses, before moving down to rivers to amble slowly through the reeds. Elephants can frequently be seen all over the area and in the rivers Guests relaxing at the lodge pools can find themselves enthralled, watching elephant families equally enjoying their own pools, particularly if the families include endearing little ones at foot.
After your morning game drive and brunch, you bid farewell to this African wildlife mecca. You are transferred by road to Hoedspruit Airport for your flight to Cape Town.
