Itinerary
Upon arrival at Maun Airport where you are welcomed by a representative from your safari camp and assisted to your onward light aircraft transfer to your camp in the Central Kalahari. Here your ranger will meet you and transfer you to your lodge for your three night stay.
Aircraft Flight time: Maun to Kalahari Plains Camp: approx. 1 hour
The Central Kalahari game Reserve (CKGR) is the largest, most remotely situated reserve in Southern Africa, and the second largest wildlife reserve in the world. Waist-high golden grasses seem to stretch interminably, punctuated by dwarfed trees and scrub bushes. Wide and empty pans appear as vast white stretches of saucer-flat earth, meeting a soft, blue-white sky. At night the stars utterly dominate the land; their brilliance and immediacy are totally arresting.
The park contains wildlife such as South African giraffe, bush elephant, white rhino, cape buffalo, spotted hyena, brown hyena, honey badger, meerkat, yellow mongoose, warthog, South African cheetah, caracal, Cape wild dog, black-backed jackal, bat-eared fox, cape fox, African leopard, Kalahari lion, blue wildebeest, plains zebra, common eland, sable antelope, gemsbok, springbok, steenbok, impala, greater kudu, aardvark, cape ground squirrel, cape hare, cape porcupine, chacma baboon, red hartebeest and ostrich. The land is mostly flat, and gently undulating covered with bush and grasses covering the sand dunes, and areas of larger trees.
This morning after your morning game activity. Your lodge manager assists you to the airstrip where you board a light aircraft to your lodge in the Okavango Delta.
Landing at an airstrip nearest to your camp, you are met by your driver & guide and transferred by road to your tented camp set among the marula trees. There is time to settle into your tented suite before you depart on your first afternoon game activity in the Okavango Delta. Return to your lodge in the early evening for dinner, before retiring to your suite.
Light Aircraft Flight time: Kalahari Plains to Okavango Delta: approx. 1.5 hours
The Okavango Delta is home to the Big Five and large herds of elephant and buffalo. Famed for its big cat and bird population, the Delta is a peaceful haven where animals have been protected for decades. Watch giraffe and other plains game march across the savannah. You might even catch a glimpse of rare wild dogs stalking the plains.
You are transferred to the nearest airstrip from your camp and connect with your light aircraft transfer to your lodge in the Moremi Game Reserve. There is time to settle into your camp for your 3- night stay before you set off on your afternoon game activity in the Moremi Game Reserve.
Flying time: Okavango Delta to Moremi Game Reserve: Approx. 35 minutes
Moremi Game Reserve is situated in the central and eastern areas of the Okavango, and includes permanent dry land such as Chief’s Island and the peninsula known as Moremi Tongue. This means that areas of dry woodland and savannah lie next to picturesque floodplains and lagoons. This makes for spectacular game viewing and bird watching. Over 400 species of birds, many migratory and some endangered, have been recorded in the Reserve. Both Black and White Rhino have recently been re-introduced and elephant herds Flying time: Okavango Delta to Moremi Game Reserve: Approx. 35 minutes
This morning after your morning game drive you are met and transferred to the nearest airstrip from your camp and connect with your light aircraft transfer from the Lodge to Maun Airport where you connect with your International flight home.
